Engine cover

That is beautiful, I just recently bought a 2011 SGM Camaro and was wondering how much something like that would run for? I'll have to look local of course because Texas is a little out of my reach. Thanks in advance

The painted engine cover was about $100 for paint/labor - I just gave them the stock one and said to tape off the silver and cover the black in SGM. Cost will really depend on whether your painter can get just the amount of MT-142 [I think that was the number] additive they need for the project or if they need to buy a pint/quart to do the work. My painter was able to just get what was needed for the engine cover and the spoiler from his supplier. According to his supplier, the SGM Camaro is the only vehicle he could find that used this additive.

I appreciate the info and wish me luck on finding someone who will have the necessary supplies. And I must say your car is absolutely beautiful. I will keep an eye on this page to see any new future upgrades you do.

Thanks! I've got a few more things planned but I think those will be on hold until we buy our next house later this year.

Thumbs up 1 year later...

So, after 1 year of ownership:

Miles driven: 18,863
Avg MPG: 18.7 (Best tank:24.2 / Worst tank:16.0)
Problems requiring service: 1 (A/C compressor belt replacement @ 5k miles)
Smiles: Countless!!

I still smile everyday when I open the garage door in the morning to leave and again when I step off the elevator on the 6th floor of the parking garage at the end of the workday. So glad that I chose to trade in my 2010 1LT/RS and get this 2011 SGM SS. Worth every penny I lost on the trade in.

Next up - New garage with a house attached.

Closing mid-October. Pretty sure my Camaro is going to love its new parking spot...
  • 21x80' driveway
  • 21x40' barn style garage with 21x20 covered parking
  • 10' ceiling
  • 16x9' door
  • 21x60' upstairs room (storage, game room, media room, 1/2 bath, etc...)

Need to grab an updated picture but this is the Camaro's new home...

I'll plan the garage warming party around the time when I finally buy a 4-post lift. You guys can help me put it together...

Been gone for quite a while but figured it was about time to update this thread with some new info...

Miles: 30,000. Cruising right along without any issues at all.

Latest changes:

1. Range Technologies AFM Disable Module - so worth it until I eventually get around to doing engine work.

2. GM ZL1 Black 10 spokes - 2k miles - take offs. Got a decent but not a smokin' deal on the set since I'll need to repair the curb rash on one rear wheel. I've had these on for 2 days (75 miles) and I like the Goodyear's but can't live with a low tread life tire so those will be coming off tonight and put up for sale soon to someone that needs/wants them locally.

Next thing to do...a little customizing to the wheels so I can get closer to the look of the 2011 Hot Wheels Concept Camaro. Haven't decided on the color of the wheel stripe or the finish on the spokes yet but this is the overall look I "think" I want to aim for over the next 1-2 years. Definitely going to have to get lowering springs too!

That's it for now...

I just bought some ZL1 rims myself. Got mine from Factory Reproductions. Awesome looking wheels. Your ride looks great BTW.

Life got in the way...

Busy with getting settled into the new house, traveling repeatedly to take care of family going through a rough patch, and working 70+ hours a week.

Trying to find time to catch up with people...
