Exhaust purchase very soon!!!!

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=82664

I saw the above thread and was amazed at how cheap you can get this system.

-Magnaflow Axle back Comp Series Part # 16582

If there are any vendors that can provide a price close to this or duplicate the price send me a PM now!

-Im also interested in the Borla Axle back Atak system...

Let me know what you can do...I've tried PM a few vendors with no response...if anyone is selling on of the above...I wouldn't be opposed to a used system either..

I've read the reviews, I've watched the videos....now let me purchase.

Nothing wrong with this axle-back.....but you do realize it's basically just a muffler delete. Most people are getting it done at a local muffler shop for about $100.

Now this setup does have the big 5" tips but that's somthing you can buy from a vendor like JDP Motorsports. I got my Magnaflow tips for about $50 a piece to my door.

If you want an easy DIY setup then buy the axle-back. I would tell you to call JDP Motorsports (www.MagnaflowPlus.com). Don't go by thier website prices....you need to call them.

If you want to do basically the same thing but cheapr then check with JDP and see how much those 5" tips cost. Then see if you can find a local shop to cut out the mufflers and put on the tips for you.

This is what I did when I first got my car. I've since gone to some LTs with the 3" Magnaflow. For a cheap price it was a great setup.

Also.....I see you car is an L99. Be prepared that they say the AFM sounds like crap with pretty much any aftermarket system. I have an LS3 so I can't give you real world feedback. Just letting you know what others have said.

Sounds like a great setup..I read the bulk of the thread you outlined...I'm new at exhaust customization...please explain the major difference between The magnaflow Axel back comp series setup part #16582 and the setup that you're discussing...What are the pros and cons other than price. But yes i did know it was essentially a muffler delete. I learned that here...lol Seems like the videos on the 16582 are a little louder than your setup..if i understand you correctly you did straight pipes and ordered magnaflow tips?

If you want to put the exhaust on yourself then the #16582 would be the way to go. You can use a sawsall to take off you existing exhaust and then it will clamp on.

If you're going to end up taking in to a muffler shop to put the #16582 on then it will probably be cheaper to buy some tips and have them cut off the factory mufflers, add some pipe, and weld on the tips.

Some people have found shops to do the muffler delete as cheap as $60. I think $100 seems to be more common though. Then say $100 - $125 for some tips.....and you can see that $200-$250 and someone else is welding it on instead of clamping it on.

Either way is going to be good. Just throwing out more info for you. There is nothing wrong with the #16582. The 5" tips are a little too big IMO but that's all just personal preference.

Two things about the sound differnces. First off you can't go by just videos. Not every camcorder's mic is the same. They record diffently. The setup I had sounded louder in person than on the video IMO. Second....is that I also had a resonated x-pipe that will make it sound different.

Don't forget to at least check the prices at JDP....in my experience they've been the cheapest on Magnaflow parts. Worst case I'm sure they'll match any price you find and they have great customer service. http://www.magnaflowplus.com. Don't forget to add in the price of shipping. JDP's price ususally includes shipping....others may charge extra.

-I will check with some local shops...I'm more interested in the magnaflow 16582. Straight pipes might be a do-able option...I'm indecisive so we will see
