Just place the option box [x] on the order form.
[ ] SS376
[x] SS427
[ ] All power options, windows, doorlocks, trunk release, etc
[x] All power options delete
[x] A/C, Full stereo system
[ ] Delete A/C and Stereo system

Not all all of us want a Z/28,ZL1, Z06 or a SRT8 or the Shelby GT500 or a SS427 but it would be nice to have that option box if you did. You can buy a Challenger with a few different engines same with the Mustang and each step up you pay more.
You get the idea

If you wanted leather seats, you had to order the package that included leather seats or you did not get them. Chevy, Ford and Dodge saw this and learned from their mistake and now also offers everything in packages. This helps keep the cost down and helps keep Chevy competitive with Honda, Toyota and others.

I do agree the "a-la-carte" option list would be nice, but it will never happen.
Oh, I know. For the manufacturers, its not cost effective but, its nice to dream. For one thing, all of the programming would almost have to be customized to the individual option configuration. Not only would it be a nightmare for the manufacturing process but, could you imagine how often there would be mistakes made on the service side?

Don't you just love where all of the advances in technology have gotten us?

The only 427 equipped SLP car I saw on their site started at an option price of $34,995....plus your car. Maybe I missed the $10k version.

Drag Pak Challenger
Cobra Jet Mustang
COPO Camaro

If you want one - dig deep (100k+) and have the rarest of the current gen muscle cars

What's your problem?
I simply stated that the Z/28 should be something different with the 427 and I want one. Your the one with the useful comments

I was hoping that the 427 being offered was an SS427 option for this model year, so I agree with the OP. In my view, GM did an odd thing by not calling the ZL1 a Z28- the ZL1 is much more of a mass marketed high end Camaro, and the Z28 nameplate would have sold many more cars. The current Z28 is more reminiscent of the ZL1 cars from 69 (which is where the name comes from) than the original Z28- stripped down, 427, yada yada yada. Baffling, but I'm sure there were smart people with money in mind when they made that decision. To me, not the smart marketing guy from GM, the Z28 should be more of a mass market vehicle than it's going to be. Like it was stated, the Z28's are going to be rarely seen on the road- with that front bumper/splitter you can't park it anywhere without damaging it.

Its not there. I spoke to SLP on the phone. Adding just a 427 in it would cost about $10k on top of the MSRP of a new camaro SS is what I was told. They just give the base kit for it with is about $3k on the website. Thats not including the 427.
