I would hope the Camaro would sell better at the moment. Years of pent up demand and the fact that new powertain upgrades come to the Stang in 2011 support this.

Because Ford's building some pretty kickass products like the new Fusion and Taurus. Fusion's a major competitor to Malibu (which GM better get the ball rolling on) and Taurus blows the Impala out of the water.

Bottom line: If GM wants to stay competitive in the family sedan market, they need to step up their game. Improve on the already successful Malibu and slap the Impala badge on a car deserving of it.

Can you imagine how many more Camaros would have sold w/ incentives, MSRP--both pre-order and lot sales? Probably have ~15,000 more on order now(compared to 10,000).

And what if other plants got involved to keep up w/ demand..ca ching, baby$$!

the real test will be next year 2011 and the rebirth of the 5.0L mustang....

I think the Camaro outsold the Mustang in 1977, 1978, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, and 1991. And if you include Firebird sales GM beat Ford the majority of sales years.

I would be interested in knowing what they were combined also. Essentially, Firebirds took the sale of a Camaro since it's almost the same car, but I suppose some would prefer the Firebird over Camaro, and Mustang over Camaro, so they could choose Mustang too if there were no Firebird.

i was just doing some research and found..

May + June Mustang sales: 16,147
May + June Camaro sale: 14,783

but i guess adding the months don't count hope the sales keep up on GM's side.
