In the beginning, EVERYTHING was an option code. In '67, you started with a Sport Coupe or Convertible...and added anything/everything else.

12337 = 6-Cylinder Sport Coupe
12437 = 327/210 V8 Sport Coupe
12367 = 6-Cylinder Convertible
12467 = 327/210 V8 Convertible
Z21 = Style Trim Group
Z22 = Rally Sport Package
Z23 = Special Interior Group
Z28 = Special Performance Package (NOTE: 4 different option versions...)
SS Package = Engine option codes L48 (350/295hp), L35 (396/325hp), or L78 (396/375hp), which then "forced on" the SS content.

Oh for those "simple days"...

The hood as Old School has mentioned should optimize the (dare I say it) LS7's intake. Personally I love the Hot Wheels hood. The grill should be a more flattened design less angled to each side. This should provide better aerodynamics. The grill area should be blacked-out like the Hot Wheels Camaro, along with the tail area.
LS7,... LS7,... LS7....<with cold air inducted hood>

The new COPO is close to the equivalent 69 ZL1. The new ZL1 is a totally new beast with an old name and nothing historically to compare it to. It's like they took what could be a Z/28 suspension and put it under an SS on steroids.

They're making new history using old names.... and that's fine, I'm getting used to it.

On that premise, here goes nuttin'..... The Jay Leno car could easily be a new Z/28.

A big majority feels that way, that's why I think they didn't do it. I'd like to see an LS7 car, but that's a high dollar motor.

Cam, head, intake and headers on LS3 would be nice.... maybe even de-stroked crank and let it rev

The LS7 is expensive, but look what you get. It is a race motor for the street. Hmmm, wouldn't that make for a great Z28 engine?! If output is increased maybe they'll come down in price.

Already discussed and dealt with, the new COPO is an NHRA drag race car and does not come anywhere close to being a proper Z/28. A V-6 Z/28, that's something I'm not likely to ever buy, even though at my advanced age I'll likely not have a real chance to buy a Z/28 except late 5th gen or a 6th gen version. If they go V-6, they've lost my sale.
