looking for Chris in MD with a silver Camaro with 3M clear bra installed

Chris, I talked with the guy who was doing your 3B clear bra install, and I lost his number, any chance you could send that info, and also how do you like how it turned out? Was he able to do the whole front facia with one piece?

Thanks, George

George,
I saw Chris and his car yesterday at the get together. They redid it and covered the whole hood. the only problem was what looked like a small scratch in the product. They used a product called Venture Shield this time. It is made by 3M. Their contact info is: Solar Pros,
2254 Old Washington Road Waldorf, MD 20601*
301-638-1140*
The guy there is named Warren,

Joe

Joe, that's the guy. Thanks! How was the get together yesterday? I am hoping to make it to the next one! I want to bring the wife and kids out too, I think they would love to see all the different colors and styles of the Camaro's around here.

R, George

It was nice. We had 6 cars. Lots of folks came over and looked at them. We met in the parking lot of a shopping mall. someone had the aqua blue metallic, which was much nicer then I thought it would be. We drove over to Famous Dave's BBQ (about 1/2 mile) for lunch. One couple came up from near Richmond. Now, if you could get your wife to drive your old Camaro and bring both, that would be cool.

Hello Navyflyer I am the Chris you speek of.....and it seems Joe has givin you the info you needed...as far as the service at Solar Pros it was great he has really worked with me to make it look good....He first started with the Clearshield Product but then he found out about
Ventureshield and that they had the 58" roll of product so he would be able to to the entire hood. As Joe said there seems to be a small scrach in the product on the hood but its really hard to see other than that the install is great and as far as doing the front bumber in one peice he was real close there are a couple of seams but again they are hard to see unless you know where they are...I will add Pics as soon as i get a chance to wash the car and take some

If you don't mind me asking...how much did he charge? How long did you have to be without your car?

Mine cost me $1500 for the full hood install and etc. I got this installed in Michigan so I would imagine it will cost more in the DC/VA/MD area.

I had a 2001 SS and did not protect it...not this time around.

Yikes! I think Chris said it $550 for the 8mm 3M... full hood and front.

I've seen and received quotes of about $600 for just the front and a few inches back and $1500 for the full front with Venture Shield. I would double check the $550 price for the full hood.

I talked with Warren at SolarPros and he said it would run $650 for the front bumper and whole hood (but I already have my own 3M material which save a few hundred). I'm assuming that would include the mirrors and splash areas and door edges, but not sure. I have about 2500 miles on my Camaro now and I wish I had done this sooner, but better late than never. I may do the a-pillars and teh leading edge of the roof too.

Interesting seeing how I do not beleive 3M makes 58 inch film... which is needed for the full hood. I can tell you first hand you can not buy that full hood, full bumper kit for $550. I think you will be getting the partial hood... not the full.
