I just hope they don't pull the 5000 only and 5 speed automatic only the first year bullcrap that Chrysler is doing with the Challenger. If they do that and whore the first versions off at Barrett-Jackson to the highest bidder, ala Shelby GT500 and Challenger, we could be looking at astronomical prices.

i hope this isnt true. why hasn't anyone said that production wasnt until 09 now? how is it that this web sight found out before some of these big camaro sights? BS!

good gawd.... at this rate the camaro is never going to show up... but the source is questionable?

Im not so sure about this GM strategy.... I think there waiting too long to put this car into production and the 'hype' will die by then.... thus losing sales. Meh but thats just me.

yeah this is getting rediculuos that they keep pusing it back. they tell us production in late 08 , now production is pushed back maybe 6 months!!! this is BS. tell us something true for a change. stop pushing things back and give us the real date.

Anything i have heard from GM is that it will be on sale early in 2009. Some dealers have said earlier, few have said later, I trust GM. They know that every day the camaro isn't out is another day that people will buy mustangs or challengers. But if it isnt done right then they will lose sales in the long term

Okay...this is bad news....Why?!?

October '08. GM wasn't lying, and may I take this oportunity to say that the 30 cars in October tidbit was never 'press-released' by GM? It started as a rumor that was then confirmed by Scott, as I recall. Secondly, did any of you really expect them to make enough cars in November and December to pass out to all the dealerships by January? Um, no.
Thirdly, last time I checked, March is in the beginning/First quarter of '09 - in, fact; it's in the beginning of every year!:eek:. So, nope GM didn't lie about that, either.
No delays that I can see, here.

(sigh) Relax.

oh, and don't count on the Camaro making a "Challenger-esque" entry into the market

For quite some time we have been hearing "production STARTING last quarter '08, available at dealers first quarter '09". Now what exactly in that recent Leftlane article states anything differently than what GM has been saying? Now let's see, the most recent article said early production going to engineers, etc. starting in Nov., that's still last quarter '08. They stated should be available at dealers mid -March '09, that's still first quarter '09. So what has really changed? NOTHING!!! Get a grip people, it will get here. Three years (or a little over) from concept being shown to available at dealer is nothing. Sure, I'd like to have one tomorrow too, but it just is not going to happen.

I don't know about the hype dying down all that much, as we'll be getting more specifics on the production model as we get closer to the production date. Also, don't forget that Transformers 2 is slated to open that summer, featuring our favorite Autobot.
