Damn, got any pictures? was the main damage to the front end? I would call Dodge about this. Might be a defect or recall issue that they don't know about, next person it could happen to might not be as lucky as your daughter.

When I got to the scene they had already taken her to the hospital and all of the cars where still mangled together.. It's in the front.. When I meet the adjuster where the car is I will take pictures!!.. But when I saw her car and she was gone I feared the worst and rushed to the hospital.,

There are all sorts of factors that go into determining when airbags deploy, so the crash may not have met the criteria for deploying. Vehicle speed, occupant weight, direction and force of the impact.
Or, maybe they just didn't. Remember, airbags are supplemental to the restraint (seatbelt) system, so the best thing going for your daughter is that she was wearing her seatbelt. At any rate, it's probably worth a call to Chrysler. I'm glad to hear she's ok! |

Glad she's OK, that's what really matters.
There are several contributing factors that must all line up in order for them to deploy is what we have learned. I have been to many "serious" accidents (at work) over the last 32 years with massive damage where the bags never deployed. We always wonder the same thing, why not. I'm sure there are others on here that can explain the reasons.

So glad to hear your daughter is ok. I hope she has a fast and full recovery for any types of injuries she has and she gets back in the saddle. I know many young drivers get scared after a serious accident because the truth is you cannot predict what other people are going to do. You can only be cautious as possible and try your best to keep yourself safe.
Look up the SMITH System and show her that if she feels uncomfortable driving. It is a good system to follow and if you follow it you can feel a little more confident in driving and keeping yourself safe.

I get called to numerous accidents some fatal and cars in serious frontal accidents without the airbags deployed are more then likely a defect. 2 reasons I can see is that the defect prevented the crash sensors from detecting the crash properly or could be a defect preventing the deployment signal from reaching the airbag modules and deploying them. If the car is totaled from a front collision I would certainly be contacting Dodge.
Glad to hear ur daughter is ok. |

Glad to hear your daughter is ok!! My husband had a 2013 Ford Explorer. He was in the Left lane (3 lanes wide) in very heavy traffic. He was coming home from Chicago. A guy in a Chrysler Sebring was coming off the ramp and tried cutting all lanes over to the left. Needless to say, he went right into the rear passenger side of my husband. My husband spun out and hit the concrete barrier with the front of his Explorer. He then spun the opposite direction and went two lanes over to the right and hit a semi that was slowing down. He hit him with the right side of the front end and hit the semi's gas tank. It did cause it to leak but all was ok. The only airbag to deploy was the rear passenger one. He ended up at the hospital for a few days but thankfully he was fine and no injuries to anyone else. I asked the Ford dealership why they didn't deploy and their guess was that it must have been a corner and not a full front on hit. His truck was destroyed. Ended up buying a much bigger truck after that.
