We will be happy to help you and you may see a more noticeable difference on the V-6 in all gears as well as a noticeably different sound if you have stock exhaust.

I have a 2SS/RS Automotic. I don't want to get the wrong CAI. It's worth putting on the V8?

I guess I'm trying to understand what you said. Do you mean it's more noticeable on a V6 than a V8?

Yes, I do have the stock exhaust.

Thanks for your help.
Yep, no difference between the LS3 and the L99 for the CAI Intake. You can tell on the V-8, I just jumped to thinking you had a V-6. You will just notice 3 things immediately...
1) Definitely a more noticeable response when you hit the gas.
2) Better mid-range power in the third and fourth gears
3) Nastier throaty sound when you jump on the accelerator

If you look at the comparison done by Jeanetty Racing a few posts down you will see that it is rated about the best for power gain i.e. HP.

I love it! Played a lot today.

I'll wait to after the 3/28 get together as I'd like all of us with manual transmissions to compare brake/clutch fluid.

For comparo:

Yours now:

Mine at 500 miles:

Mine at almost 7000 miles:

Nearly no change in 6500 miles. It is a weee bit darker and there is a little bit of small specs of debris, I mean SMALL in the resivior.

I hope yours isnt as bad as it looks in the pic! It looks like maple syrup! I think I would change it when we get back from C5Fest. Randy is going to let me borrow his little pump do-dad to change my diff fluid so we can use it to change your brake fluid when we return from C5 Fest. I may do mine too just because all the other fluids will be changed out, plus at nearly 10,000 miles by then, it will be time.

The camera, photographer and distance to the object can make a difference. Below is using my cell phone camera same as previous pic but moved out. It doesn't look as dark/nasty.

Hmmm. Let's see. Merlin's Lady Lisa will be at a conference in Atlanta next Friday. So, NO, Merlin will not be out at Kmart next Friday! He will, however, be in Jamestown for the get-together at Heinz' house :-)

What time do you have to be back on campus, Fenwick? And how far is Jamestown from campus? Maybe we could get you back to Columbus if you could get a ride to Heinz' place...

Not sure, but my parents and I need to take care of some stuff up at Ohio State that Sunday anyways.

Anybody planning on going to the auto show on Thursday next week? I'll be there for sure. Not sure about the parents...since I just got my license yesterday.

Hmmm, now that sounds interesting! I looked at their website, but the v6 version is not yet available. Do you know something we don't, 1_RD_JWL?

I got that. I was wondering if he had any info on the V6 CAI. I'll have to check their website again in a few weeks.

A little bit of Old School

I got my car back from the Stripe Shop today, and I can't wait until Sunday to show my stripes! They are just what I wanted - along with the blue bowties, of course! (Not my real plate, btw - but I'm tempted. )

I emailed Cold Air Inductions about the CAI for the V6 - I'm curious to see if they have any performance tests yet.
