Angry **UPDATE** Added accessories against my will!!!

Okay here is my delima.

I ordered my ABM Camaro from my semi local "at MSRP" dealer back in March. Since then they have sold a few Camaro's at MSRP but have added things like tinted windows and paint sealant, clear bra etc... to get more money out of the car, rather than charging more than MSRP... which basically is the same thing if you ask me. Now I planned on getting some in fact most of the things they are offering, and from them even, with the exception of tinted windows, I can get the back three done for $175 they are asking $699... But other things I'd just asume have them do. I am on the fence about having stripes painted on the vehicle, so paint sealant is worthless to me. I was told I could have it done after I get the stripes... but that may be a year down the road, I don't know for sure. The fact is I am just trying to get the car, if they add all this extra stuff I don't want or at least need right now then what? Thats a bunch of wasted money and material. In all the extras will run approx. $4,000, that's an extra $4,000 I don't have at the moment, as it is I need to pay the negative equity off my FJ in order to not be upside down on it incase I have to trade it if I can't sell it private party.

So here is my delima, I am told this is from the top down... I don't blame my sales guy at all, he has been great to this point and continues to be, but the powers that be are forcing this on the sales team... so I plan to talk to the sales manager and see if I can make any head way... if not, I guess I am prepared to cancel my order and order from some one else... again as I have said before I'd take a plane to go pick up my car if I had to just to drive it home... esspecially if I didn't have to pay extra for stuff I don't want or need at the moment. I don't want to have to cancel my order I would rather honor the original deal and have a good working relationship with my dealer... I could just have them add the stuff but thats more than I think I should pay for some items like window tinting. the others are what they are... like the car cover etc...

Help me out guys what do you think I should do?

If you didn't order it, you didn't order it. I don't see the problem. Tell the dealer you're not paying for it. They did something to your car without authorization. It was your car right, you ordered it and put a deposit down?

Do you have the printed, signed order? If so, show them that none of those were part of your order and you do not want them. Take it to the top. Refuse. This is basically a markup without the word markup.

Is your car at the dealership already or is this crap stuff that they plan to do when it arrives?

If it's not here yet, get a hold of the General Manager or Owner (not the Sales Manager) and tell him you ordered the car to your specifications for a reason and that you will refuse to purchase the car when it arrives if they attempt to add these additional items to the car and the purchase price. Tell him that you want his agreement, in writing, that none of these items will be added and that the deal for GM's MSRP is what you agreed to, not the marked-up dealer-added options price.

If he refuses, tell him that you will report it to the BBB, all 2010 Camaro related websites, and the local media, in addition to GM. There is absolutely no reason for adding all of that marked-up stuff to a sold order. Maybe for a lot car, yes, but for a car that was ordered specifically for one person, no.

I asked a friend who was a former Chevy mechanic and agreed with this is just a wax done for profit. Dealer said,"Originally $750, I can get it for $550". I told him if it wasn't GM product, I did not want it.

That's shady. Don't accept it. You ordered the car the way you did for a reason and that reason was not to have a bunch of crap added that you don't want or need.

Think of it this way: If you go to a restaurant and order a meal and they bring you something similar to what you ordered but more expensive and they charge you the higher price, are you going to accept it or send it back?

Our Simoniz Glass Coat here is $399 inside and out so I would say $600 is nuts. They didn't tell you about this stuff when you agreed to order the car??

Check with your states Attorney General. Forcing dealer add-ons might be illegal in your state. Usually you get that crap in the financind dept. Requiring things like GAP, credit life, extended warranties, etc... Very questional sales ethics.
