Stall question for ysi?
2012 ss, forged internals stock stroke
Vortec ysi 23~ psi Meth 93 octane 4l80e. My question is what do you guys run for converters. Iv never been around a supercharged setup so this is my first. I know turbos you'll run a smaller stall to get it to boost easier. But do I need to run a bigger one since vortech is belt driven and to keep my cam up in power band? I know it's a broad question but insight would be helpul!

I got a big stall on my 6L80. Launches way better than my 26-2800. Unfortunately I'm having shifting issues at the track. Daily driving its perfect. On part throttle RPMs stay up. I plan on going 4L80 and also plan on a 3600+ stall. I say the bigger the better but tuners keep telling me 3500 is good for drivability. I don't care for drivability but for some reason they do.
If your talking about ScottyWheels he had a protorque 3600. I got to talk to him a few times when I was researching for my YSi and he said he would have liked a bigger stall. 4000+. That's when I decided to get a big stall and get what I wanted not what they offered. |

I have a 3500 in my 6l80 right now and truthfully wished it was bigger lol.
But I keep hearing big as you wanna drive. Ill find the video I watched today of a 4l80e swapped 5 th gen with a 5200!!

Exactly! I didn't plan on running less than a 4000 if I go 4L80. A big stall makes my setup feel like its suppose to. Tuners have actually told me its harder to tune. Maybe that's a good reason why we don't see too many high stalls

Do you feel like your getting all you can out or better driveability with the smaller stall? I'm not talking hp numbers I'm meaning times etc.
