"F" Body........

Dont know if its been mentioned, or if anyone has thought about(I did), but you guys realize that the F body is dead right ?:(

The new Camaro is an "E" body.

Discuss, or dont.

Uhhh...?

The Camaro's built on the GM Zeta Platform. The "letter"-body designation isn't even in use anymore except for a few vehicles like the Corvette and Impala. The E-body platform was last used in 2002 for the El Dorado.

Actually, it's considered Zeta Platform

GM no longer uses a letter designation followed by the word "body" (I think the last car GM makes with the old nomenclature is the Impala's W-Body).

The new suv's (Traverse, Enclave, Outlook, Acadia) are considered Lambdas

Once GM began utilizing global engineering and design, then making a platform flexible to take on many different shapes, sizes, and drivetrains, calling a chasis a "body" didn't fit the bill.

Ill look around( a link would help) but as far as I can tell only one trim level of camaro will have an "F" in its vehicle designation.

Yes its built on Zeta, "E" body. Delta is "A", Epsilon is "Z", Hiperformance RWD is "Y", etc... Every car and truck GM builds still uses a letter designation.

Traverse/Enclave/Outlook/Acadia are Lambdas.

Epsilon/Epsilon II are Malibu, G6, 2010 LaCrosse, and Aura.

There's still a K-body, the DTS. The LaCrosse is also a W-body. Corvette/XLR are Y-bodies.

And let's just forget the U-bodies...*shudders*
