2010 Camaro SS M6 drive shaft center support should it feel like marshmallows?

I have a 2010 Camaro SS M6 and I seem to have a lot of clunking driveshaft movement. I checked the center support today and unbolted it. It moves around as if it is filled with marshmallows instead of rubber. Should it be stiffer than that or is that the way it is? It is not damaged or cracked or anything from the looks of it but it would let the driveshaft flop around quite easily with a screwdriver against the exhaust moving on it.

Just wondering if I should upgrade to a 1 piece aluminum or not. Everything else front to back is poly/delrin/solid bushings.

Thanks,

Kevin
