Screw it. I don't care how many horsepower it has or how well it handles or brakes.

If I can't get it with a Powerglide, I'm not buying one.

It would cost them too much either to have two options available. All the parts come off of the CTS-V or the Corvette C6. They do not have to design and develop anything new.

There are some here that do not wish to have the automatic as an option because it would see the car to the masses. They rather have lower sales but be more exclusive to their "manual fetish". They see a "manual" as being more of a "pro" or "expert" class driver category which they feel that are. They live in the past! They want to have you be like them; suffer in city traffic and re-learn how cool it is to shift gears with the clutch and look at the tach, etc... while the expensive cars have the dual clutch transmissions that past them by!

I would not buy one without the automatic. I did have fun with the manual transmissions but the auto is great option to the ZL1 & plus I like the factory autostart. I guess i'm just partial to the situation

There will be very few cars on the streets of America that will beat you, let alone challenge you in such a car. You could miss 3rd altogether and still walk away (and save alittle gas) from anything in your neighborhood (100 mile radius).

Most people don't even challenge SS's except those that are properly equipped..

But some people will have the equipment (Bumblebee I killed today).... Love you Camaro5!!!!

If your going automatic they really need a brand new transmission that senses both throttle and steering input and more easy to reach paddle shifters for better quality. A race driver should be able to get drive it and say yeah i can use this. NO AFM such a redundent piece of technology that causes more problems than one.

For those that need or want an automatic in the ZL1, I hope that it is offered as an option for you. For me it is a matter of economics. The auto is a $1200.00 option and the ZL1 will most likely have gas guzzler tax and that will be an additional $1200.00 to $2100.00. With the possibility of the car costing over $50,000.00 MSRP plus taxes, it might be getting close to $60,000.00 pretty quick. So no auto for me.

If there's a GG, I'll pass on any available A6 when it's my time. I'd just spend another $1K on a converter and tune anyways, so since it's not a DD, the stick will be plenty fun and less finiky as far as tuning since I'll be tuning with my right hand on the shifter. I'd hope the A6 wouldn't cost more, but I believe it would cost additional validation time and money, so I'm sure it'd be an extra-cost option I gott keep this thing as far from $60K as possible!
