Torq dual pass/dual fan heat exchanger

I completed my install of the new Torq heat exchanger just a little over a week ago. Took a few pics and videos to share with everyone. I was very impressed with the build quality of the unit right out of the box. This was a replacement for the stock Whipple heat exchanger. Install was straight forward and not that difficult. I would recommend that when installing the unit you may want to do two things: Install the top hose and the pump on the bottom mounting bracket before dropping the unit in place. I didn't do this and had to pull it back out to get these two items connected. My pump was initially mounted on the bottom drivers side of the car, just off to the bottom side of the Whipple exchanger. Torq designed their exchanger with a pump mounting bracket on the center bottom which i found to be great. I had to switch the direction my pump was facing but that wasn't a big deal. The pump location/mount is in a great position now. I haven't gotten to run the car hard yet to check IAT's but I will attach a video showing IATs after 10-15mins of idling in the driveway. Also, I did monitor IAT temps when driving 85miles of twisty roads. The IAT temps mostly ran at ambient air temp and went up only around 5 degrees after a WOT straight line burst of 1/8 mile or so. As for the fans, I've noticed a lot of folks asking "are they loud?" You can hear them most when you're right in front of the car. Other than that you really don't know they're running. However, to be fair my ride is anything but quiet so if someone were to put this on a quieter running car I imagine the perception would be that the fans would be louder. Anyway, I'll stop rambling and just say if you're looking for a quality heat exchanger I would recommend Torq! I'm pleased with the product and the service has been exceptional as well.

Nice job, thanks for the write up. We can compare fan noises on the 28th. Mine goes into Cincy on the 23rd.

Very anxious about the fan noise, but like yours, I'm sure my exhaust will drown it out unless I'm in front of it.

I know it's off the subject, but what kind of gauges are you using, and where did you mount them? The guy doing my install doesn't want to install over my a-pillar airbag.
Thanks

We haven't been in real hot temps yet but so far on daily drives the temps are staying down. Stop and go traffic I will see temps up to 105-115 but as soon as I move they are dropping real fast down to a constant 94. Also the time it takes to see temps rise are a lot longer. Thanx torq...

IAT sensor

Is your IAT sensor relocated below the whipple, or reading just after the air filter via the MAF sensor?

Heres a good idea of what to expect in the hot weather. We have been hit with a heat wave here in NJ and I took the car out for a trip to NYC and back. We were at 93 degrees outside temps and the IATs were at 118-123 cruising at a steady 65 mph. We hit some stop n go traffic and saw IATs got up to 133-138 and not any higher. As soon as I moved it started dropping back down. The drop in temps as soon as you start to move is great.
