Antenna in Spoiler?
I was just wondering if on Camaros with a spoiler would it be possible to discreetly place the Onstar/XM sharkfin antenna in the spoiler to give the car a cleaner look? (The spoiler would look just the same as it does now just it would just have the antenna inside) I am perfectly fine with having the antenna the way it is now, and I don't really care if it is not body color, but maybe for a future option GM could do this if it is not too hard?

I'm sure if it wasn't too hard or costly it would already be done in a better fashion than it is now.

Anything is possible with the resources, but that kills any option of customization. GM is offering 3 different spoilers for this car, so putting OnStar in one of the antennas would make that a necessary feature for all antennas. With some wire and a hole-fill job, you could probably do this as a custom job with a reasonable price though.

^Yeah you're probably right cause what made me think of it was seeing a car with the antenna right in front of the spoiler on the trunk lid, and I was like well that looks kind of dumb, why not just combine them? But like you said, I am sure there is a reason for that, though I cannot figure it out, would someone care to chime in?

You could definitely do it yourself and it would work. However its a little body work of course (fill in the hole in the roof) plus you would probably need to extend the wires. They will receive though. I used to have my Sirius antenna mounted inside the rear bumper of my C5.

The spoiler is an option so the antenna cannot be mounted inside it. I think it will be gone off the roof in the next model year, same as the Vette, it was on the roof and the next year inside the side mirror for a cleaner look.
