Do you have cam work done to your car? If so are you VVT or did you do a full conversion?

Is this oil pump going out more of an issue with the LS3 than the L99.

Yes it's been a problem since the Ls1 lol the L99's on the other hand have a better record!

Sorry to hear about that. Might as well upgrade a bunch of parts while your in there if not covered under warranty. Good time to get a cam.

It is weird that the L99 and LS3 have different records. because they are the same pump in there. What i have heard is that the pump is probably going out because of the installation. which i can see because when i put mine back on after the cam install it was a pain in the A$$. trying to get in there and get the seal perfect is a headache. with that said i dont know why a LS3 would be different than the 99.

I am not an expert but this is not common for engines that have not had internal work right?

At least you caught it before it caused some damage. Hope the car is back up and running soon

It does. Its not the exact same as the LS3 pump.

There is a TSB on it. Common on all LS motors, trucks and cars that use that part number.

Mine went out with 5k on it, all I had done is intake and exhaust.

Technical Service Bulletin.
If you have a problem and bring it in, they'll fix it.
