P-zero thoughts
So we all know that pirelli p zeros are great tires... but who has problems keeping the rubber on them? i do not burn out (often) maybe once in a blue moon and i still cant keep the pzeros on... i only have 22750 miles on my car... ive had to replace the rears once already and by the end of the summer probably going ot have to replace them again... ended up getting the new cooper tires on the front and i plan on putting them in the back becuase they seem to have a better lasting time then the p zero's... just want to know if you guys think its worth the p zeros or not

NOPE.....to soft for my taste......they are good tires, but I nwanted a Ultra-High Performance tire that would last a bit longer......which is why why I put a set of Generals AS-03's. I love them.

P-Zero's are overall very good tires. You can drop the air pressure at the track if you need a little more hook but they are still a little traction limited. Handling is great but the ruts in the road pull me all over the place. Mine will need to be replaced soon as the fronts are down to the wear bars and the rears are getting close at 22k miles. I will consider Vredestein and the P-Zeros when shopping. I doubt the Vredesteins will give me any more traction at the track but they might be better all around. JMO.

My 2LT has the all weather P-Zero Nero. I have 36k on them, and thinking I can get another 3-5k. I know...totall different then the summer P-Zero, but it seemed like a general question. On my 4th Gen Z-28 (when I owned it in the early (90's) I would get about 25k out of my summer Z rated tires. Goodyear and BFGoodwrench tires.

Look into the Hankook Ventus V12 K110. It will cost you like $750 for a set of 4 tires. Can't beat that and placed 2nd in Car and Drivers tire test out of 10 different tires.

One problem with softer tires is they don't last as long as some other tires.
A good example is the NT05 Nittos which only have a 200 tread wear (I believe). They have excellent dry traction, but that 200 tread wear lets you know they're not going to last all that long. So if you're looking for a long lasting tire, focus on a higher tread wear rating. The higher the number, the longer the tire will generally last. But on average, the higher the tread wear the less dry grip they will have. |

P-Zero's are great for a summer tire. The wear is too much for my tastes on my last car they lasted 30K Miles on all 4 tires. On a Camaro I looked at with 30K miles they had worn through two pairs already on the rear. I probably won't be replacing mine with the same tire but hopefully I get 30-40K miles out of them at least.

Love everything about the P-zeros except the tire wear...
On my second set of rears and they need replacing in another 5k (30k on the Odo). No (full) burnouts, hit the track a couple times a year and plenty miles of spirited driving. I plan on getting a set of Mickey Thompson Street Comp Tires very soon... UTQG 300 AA A vs 220 AA A
