Removing Steering wheel trim

Am I correct that to remove this little piece, you have to:

disconnect the battery
poke the sides of the airbag to release it
then it just comes off?

just make sure u disconnect the battery first

also.. I have that stick-on trim stuff (carbon fiber looking) on it right now.. anyone know anything that will take it off easily? Goo-gone?

wait at least 15 minutes after you disconnect the battery before you start touching the airbag.
