Update on the Barchetta...

Talked to the repair shop yesterday, and looks like it will be done in about 7-9 days.

Since the hood had to be replaced and repainted, I asked how much it would cost to get the striping painting (silver metallic), and it was pretty cheap to do just the hood.

I'm holding off on doing the trunk/spoiler until later. Should still look nice with just the hood painted for now though.

I would do it all since it's going to be there anyway. Think it's going to look goofy with just the hood done. And you haven't had the car for a while now, what's another day or 2?

It's more a matter of money. I wanted to do stripes, but was planning on holding off for a few more months. Being that they are painting the hood now, the savings for doing the hood is too much to pass up.

On an $11k insurance fix they won't throw in the trunk stripes at a highly discounted rate?

Why would they?

Stripes on the hood are easy because the hoods already unpainted and there's barely any extra labor.

To get the rear stripes painted would be tougher as they'd have to add the labor to remove the spoiler, etc.

It just seems like they would cut you a deal - I didn't mean free, but at a highly discounted rate b/c of the other $11k of work you gave them.

You made me go spend extra money to get them both done at once. I hate you all!
