Honestly anywhere from 20,000 (and more!) to 5,000 (maybe less).
For example, cars.com is a good place to look and the most expensive car is $34,500 while the cheapest car is $1500. But I'm talking about 4th gens only (93 to 02) |

I mean, you can get a car at copart or at manheim, but those prices fluctuate more than the market price, since it depends on various factors and which bidder is willing to shell out the most cash

If you're looking for a 4th gen, you can definitely find a decent Z28 for around 4000. Just do your homework, and don't just grab the first thing you see. Shoot for 90-100k in mileage, depending on how well it's been kept, and then of course condition.
I actually sold my 96 last year for only 2100 and it ran great, and still does! The guy who bought it actually brought it out to our last Camaro meet, and it's running like a champ! Definitely know what you want first though. Decide on an acceptable mileage, decide if you want A/T or 6 spd, and if you want T-tops, hardtop or conv, etc and go from there. Then buy one and POST PICS

Depends on what you are looking for. For a coupe that looks and runs good; a '00-'02 SS/Z28/Transam will run you 8-10k, '96-'99 5-7k, and '93-'95 below 5k. Of course those prices will vary depending on miles, looks, modification, and most importantly your area.

The third gens if done right, look pretty awesome. But, if you are going to buy a third gen, you will still need to throw in a lot of money in order to mod so that it looks like a show quality car.
