Helmets are over-rated.... just like the rule of wearing pants at the dragstrip...

If I catch on fire, I'm pretty sure it will make little difference if I am wearing shorts instead of pants... They going to tell me I can't race if I decide to go without underwear?

Just my opinion.

I went out today to try on helmets, since I had no idea what size I would need, and ended up ordering one. It's reasonably priced, Snell approved, and it just happens to look pretty cool too! It should be here by the end of the week, but this is a pic I found online.

There only good for 5 years. So you have 2 years of use before they won't except it anymore.

I'll come watch. Don't have the extra cash right now. Spent over 5,000.00 on my surgery cost the insurance didn't pay.

Not true, they have instructors and 3 groups by ability level.

Having done quite a few with various groups I can tell you that you won't find any better than turn2. Lots of track time, great instruction if you need it and Tom is a great guy.

I was out there a few weeks ago and there were many people who had never gone before.

He also lets you take passengers once he deems you proficient enough. Not many groups do that.

I had friends running in group c so I ran in that group (beginner). Here is some footage from the ridge with turn2 from a few weeks ago. You can clearly see there were beginners out here but it's still very safe and organized.

I have a handful from turn2 on my page if anyone is curious what their events are like. Some in the advanced group, some novice.
