p2179 CODE
p2179 system to lean, since i work at a shop iv cleared it 3 times and it comes back in like 3 weeks to a month.. i have a K&N intake and since iv put it on i got the CEL 3 times.. didnt happen before i put the intake on.. i think it may have something to do with the K&N.. what do you guys think?

Okay lemme guess the black 63 series intake? the black tubing? if so yes its a problem i just got off the phone with K&N and are doing me a refund. call them and tell them your problem you probly had 2 codes 2179 and 2177

i have no clue they told me something about the computer not used to it or cant get used to it. they will ask you to take picture of the intake and then show them proof of purchase then another hour later...idk im in the hourwaiting process

I probably have explained this a thousand times here on this forum A lean code will not go away by just clearing the codes! You are getting a lean code because your long term fuel trims are up in the high +20's to +30's. Normal LTFT is usually -/+5 to zero. Either the maf need to be tuned or you need to get rid of your intake. Running lean is the worst you can do to your engine. It will overheat and detonate and will cause misfires.

I had the same intake. Threw the same codes. Got a full refund for
K and N. took pics of my destroyed intake, emailed them a copy of my receipt where I got it and it was a done deal. They sent me a check for the amount I paid for it. |
