I could fill a whole thread with the nonsense my dealer fed me when I bought my Camaro.

Just off the top of my head:
"It's got a Corvette engine!"
"Yeah man, I got a guy coming back later on today to look at it. I guess I can hold it for you, but I'm not sure."
(come on dude, take off the plaid polyester suit and bowtie and let's talk business, I don't need the used car salesman schtick)

Upon walking out the first time:
"Man, I got a guy coming in Saturday to buy it for $2k above sticker."

(I told him that sounded like a pretty good deal, and that I don't think I'd pass that up if I were him. It was at that point I picked up all my stuff from the table and things got a little more serious.)

After walking out the second time, and coming back to actually buy the car, they came back saying my payments were going to be $58 higher than we had discussed.

"Oh, man, that price was a one-day only coupon for Certified Pre-Owned, we can't do that now."

I told them what I want my payments to be. "Oh, no, I may as well shake your hand right now and tell you to have a good day, there's just no way."

1 hour later I had my payments where I wanted them.

Man, I hate car dealers. I've been trying to buy a house for six months and I'd do that all over again before buying another car.

The manual SS does have a Corvette engine. They are both LS3's.

Salesman: Oh, that's right. What about a sunroof?

Me: I am ordering a convertible, I didn't realize that was an option. I thought the convertible was the ultimate sunrood? duh!

What are the qualifications to be a car salesman? I mean if you have an IQ over 75 or if practically every single thing you say isn't a blatant lie you're automatically disqualified?

There were 2 black 1SS manuals side by side. One was RS one wasnt. I told the salesman I wanted the one with red SS badges, designating it an RS. He said the badge color is just dependent on what they have in the factory that day. I said fine, give me the one with red badges for the same price. We shook, and he did. Free RS package for the win.
