426 300C SRT8 with a 8.3L Whipple

First start up with the new blower. Idle is set @ 1100.

Um... Interesting. In the dyno video it sure seemed to take a long time to get going once the hammer was dropped but once it did.... WHOA!

Its the dyno that does that. It holds the car at a load for a few seconds then lets it ramp up.

I've seen slews of cars dynoed and it seems most highly modified autos do that. I figured it was a torque converter thing when you mash it it won't let it go all at once. What did the C put down?

On this dyno, a little over 700...I know it seems low, but for comparison full bolt on, supercharged(10psi+) LS3's have a hard time cracking 450rwhp.

Goal is to hit 8-850. Should be good enough for mid to high 9's at full weight (4400lbs). Alot easier said than done tho.

Wow that's a very conservative dyno. S/c'ed LS3 with all the goodies are good for considerably more. That's why I never read too deep into numbers. My car put down 410/415 where someone with less stuff put down more on a different dyno. It's all relative. We do dyno days for fun. Run a ton of pulls in one day and puff our chests out but in the end... it's just a numbers game!

I really like 300Cs. Looks great! Sounds killer too!! Not so sure I like the blower in intake sticking up but not like you could shoe horn that puppy in!!!

lol thanks for the compliments. I know it doesnt go well with everyones taste but its still pretty bad a$$ IMO. This dyno is crazy low thats why we nicknamed it the HeartBreaker. We've had some pretty p!ssed off guys leave this place after there car dyno's as much as 150rwhp less than it did somewhere else. Try to explain to them its just a number and really doesnt mean chit but most of them just cant grasp the concept. lol

I hear ya. I used to have a bone stock LS2 Corvette and I could not get some people to grasp why my slightly modified LS3 Camaro was slower... "but... Doesnt your Camaro have like 70 more HP???". I actually calculated it all out for one guy... Got really carried away using weight, gearing, coefficient of drag... in the end it came out that a stock Camaro would need like 100 more HP to be a theoretical equal to the Vette which I don't have. I tried telling him not to get caught up in the numbers... it's a whole pkg. He didn't get it! Some ppl are only concerned about peak HP. Me, I'm more after torque. I don't care how "fast" a car is... it's how QUICK it gets there!!!

A full bolt on LS3 with a blower at 10 psi would be right under 600 rwhp. Where did you come up with 450 rwhp? An auto with a blower on no bolt ons makes more than that at 6 psi.

Seems very overkill. . . what kind of dyno is it that reads that low? The lowest I've ever seen are dyno dynamics and even they don't read nearly as low as you say this one does. I'm assuming this is more for nostalgia than outright performance because you could achieve the same output with a far smaller blower and have less parasitic loss. Still pretty cool.
