Think of this another way. Purposely let this dude win the car. Let's say it costs 35k to make that happen. Now EVERY mental patient will believe that they too can do this. The company just spent 35k on very clever advertising. This is a fraction of what normal advertisements cost and this one will be a hell of a lot more effective. Greed is a powerful motivator.

I'd happily pay $322 for a brand new SS Camaro.

He wasnt all 500 of the bids. Why would you go an outbid yourself?

this site bids go up by .02 each bid, so $5.28 =264 bids @ .60 per =`$158.40 to the site.
yeah they took a bath on this auction, but if they put up a $100 gift card and it sells for the same price, they've made 58.40. it all balances out and the site makes lots of money.

spent 50 bux on beezid trying to win a playstation3 3 different times and i watched them slip away in a seconds time for under 10 bux. everytime i got close to winning the computer seemed to skip 1 second and id lose. ive seen some of the beezids close high and with all the bidders bidding at 60 cents a bid they made $3k on 1 PS3. great for them but not me.

Doesn't add up. Unless he was in a bidding war against only one other person and that person got cold feet after a couple hundred dollars. When something is too good to be true...

Like all other penny auctions sites, this "winner" will be found to be connected to the web site in some way or fashion.......

well, it was the websites first auction.

so chances are, he could have been the only person bidding
