On Private property ie. mall parking lots and such, they cannot ticket you for rolling a stop sign, HOWEVER, private property or not, reckless driving CAN get you a ticket

My questions is "How do you know which signs have the stickers?" Do you stop or yield to read the back of the sign?

He is saying, if you get a ticket for a rolling stop, after the officer leaves can you go and check/take a picture of the sign a possibly get out of it in court? I have never heard of this before, but if it is true it would be useful information.

I'm sure there's a LEO on here that might be able to answer the question at hand.

thats what im saying lol or another example .. you take the same route on an empty road everyday and you can clearly see the other roads at the stop sign and you see nobody coming so you cruise through it (not speeding) and just so happens you get a ticket .. this would be useful to know and thought i would share it .. not asking for "omggg it dangerous to run stop signs" .. im not 10..

It does not matter who installed the sign. It does not matter if its on public or private property or if there are any "stickers" on the sign. It matters if the officer has the authority to write the ticket in that area.

IE: If you are in a mall parking lot or if you are in a private gated community and there is an agreement between the property owner and the law enforcement agency in that area, they can enforce traffic laws. (stop signs, no parking signs, handicap parking areas & speeding)

This can very by State and Location this is the current situation where I live and where I have worked as a LEO

The sticker thing is complete crap. As for traffic signs on private property, if the owner of the private property has an agreement with the PD that they can enforce traffic laws on that property, then the signs are 100% legally binding. If there's no such agreement, you can try to fight it in court, and you may win. A sticker on the back doesn't matter; neither does whether or not the stop sign has a white border or not. (That was an urban legend going around when I was in high school in the late 80s.)

Edit: You beat me Scorpion. =)
