5 channel amp recomendations
Can anybody recommend good 5 channel amps? Would rather not break the bank, and if you can give me a lead on one that Newegg offers that'd be great.
I'm seeing brands like power acoustic and vibe and not sure what to think about them.

well the only thing I wonder about is if its enough power to the sub channel. My sub is a 600w rms sub, for the money the jl is only feeding it 300w... Everything I have is RE audio, and the re audio 5 channel is around $300 vice the $450 I'd pay for the jl audio.
but then, I don't know enough about 5 channel amps to make an informed decision. I'm happy with the 4 channel and 2 channel I have now from re, but I know jl is quality... Help me decide?

I don't think you'll find a 5 channel amp that puts 600 watts RMS to the sub channel...
If you are looking for that kind of output, you're better off going to a mono amp + 4 channel...but that will cost you much more... I had an Infinity Kappa 5 ch amp....great overall, but will only get you 250 w to the sub... |

Check this one out. I'm running it in the factory location. No problems with it and it sounds great.

If you can find someplace selling them at a discount, that would probably suit you...just might have to turn the gains down on the other channels... You never defined what "breaking the bank" is...what is the budget... |

I actually just installed my stuff yesterday. I got a Polk PA D5000.5 and wired my sub for 2ohms so I'm pushing out 400RMS which on my sub sounds great. Stock speakers also sound great and day 1 they haven't blown up yet. If you can wire it for 1ohms it claims 500RMS.
The Polk one was like $280. |

well... The jl @ $450 is about the top... And really, the digital sub channel should give me good sound for the sub even at 300w right? The other channels are 6.5 components from re audio

I would look at the Alpine PDX-V9. $431 shipped at Amazon. It's about on par with the JL Audio HD900/5. I bought one as a backup in case my JL Audio HD900/5 didn't fit in the factory location. Luckily it did. I'll post some pics in my thread later.
