What could it be? Bad switch or fuse. The button on remote still works.

If the doors are locked and you press the button it will not work. Maybe this is the case. If not sounds like a bad switch.

If the remote work the trunk I would say it's a fuse or wiring issue.

Just checking, but you know the button doesn't work with the key in the Accessory or the On position right?

K thanks guys for your input. I tried popping the trunk with the key to the run position and it still did not open. So I started the car and pressed the button twice and it opened. I closed the trunk turned the car off and popped the trunk open. now it works just fine. I do not drive the car very often and was trying to open the trunk without starting the car. (i have 3,200 miles on the car) It must be the car going into a security mode or something.
Thanks for saving me from having to take the Z to my dealer. I hate those guys because they are f'ing dicks.

With door unlocked it should work, it will not work with Key in on or accessory position, but will work if the motor is running.

Mine did the same thing when I bought it. Dealer put in a new switch.
