Is anyone else's key really sharp at the end. I have scratched myself countless times. Seems to me like GM traded a possible issue, knee turning engine off. To an actual issue stabbing yourself.

After several visits to the dealer (after telling them NOT to do the key recall)they decide to do the recall this time. they gave me 2 keys & the fob back. Does anyone remember which thread showed the steps in returnging the blade back into the slot on the original fob?

I don't have the thread but it's easy to do. Takes no more than 5 minutes...

I used cutter pliers to break one of the new spare keys, then took the blade out of it (the rubber on the new key breaks easily so no need for much more than some sharp pliers)
Put the blade in the fob/remote where it goes, make sure it's facing the right way (you can tell from the half circle shape, it should line up with the hole
Then put a new rollpin where they took the old one out.

When I had my 2012 they called me on like a bi-weekly basis lol.
I got my 2010 and haven't heard from them yet but I have 2 switch blade keys as well.
I'm keeping them.

I stopped at the local dealer yesterday to see if there were any recalls on my car and found out about this one . I broke out laughing when he told me about it . Needless to say I'll be ignoring this one . My knee doesn't come anywhere near my keys .

Many of Chevy's other models come with push button start so it wouldnt be required

So I traded the Camaro yesterday on a new Terrain and they gave me this to start it with:

Is my life in danger or is GM just jumping at shadows?
Oh, Mary, get tough.

I'm 6'2" and wear a size 15/16 shoe. Because of this, I sit with the seat all the way back and I sit pretty low at that. In that position, it is impossible to hit the key with my knee.

Now, I did play around with my seat and move it and yes, I was able to bump the key while the car was running. However, I looked like a monkey humping a steering wheel to do it. So no, I won't be turning in my switch blade key to carry around more crap in my pockets...
