V6 Deep Sound
Hey guys so i've had my 2010 Camaro for a year now and have left it stock, I am ready to start making some aftermarhet changes to the car now. For my first addition I want to get a custom exhaust system. Im looking for a loud deep, non raspy, non ricer sound. I was looking at the SLP Loudmouth 2 and am thinking about ordering it. Before I ordered I wanted to consult with you guys. Do you guys know of another deep sounding exhaust system for the v6? and what do you guys think about the SLP Loudmouth 2? I was also looking at the MRT version 2 but it seemed kind of quiet. Help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Currently in your same position. From hearing others it seems like MRT is the way to go. 2.0 isn't as loud as 1.0 so I'm definitely going with the 1.0

yup was just listening to videos of the mrt v1.0 and really like it actually. After reading through the forums i guess the loudmouth 2 is kind of raspy. Some guys said his friends call his camaro the honda camaro lol this is what i dont want. Leaning towards the mrt 1.0 right now. Its cheaper too! But just hope its as deep as the 2.0

V6s are inherently raspy. It is basically impossible to make a V6 loud without increasing the amount of rasp also. All aftermarket exhaust are going to have some rasp to them. The ones with the least amount of rasp are also going to be the quietest ones... Loud, deep and no rasp, just really aren't going to happen on a V6... it's just the nature (physics) of this type of engine...
All that being said... Yes, MRT Ver. 1 is loud. Yes, it has rasp. However it does not have the typical "ricer" sound. The sound is frequently described as "exotic"! |

Here's a members with MRT 1.0 resonator deleted and shorty headers. Sounds amazing IMO

Thanks a ton for all the advice and I agree with you that it will never sound like a true v8, but I would love to get to as close to it as possible. Im currently watching SLP loudmouth 2 videos and the MRT Videos and having such a hard time choosing between the two! Everyone says the MRT ver.1 sounds the best but from the videos i've been watching i kind of prefer the loudmouth sound. But i bet it sounds much better when actually heard. I need advice on which one I should choose.

The best advice is to hear them in person...videos of these exhausts just don't cut it...I heard the MRT 2.0 in person and I was sold! I should be ordering them tomorrow lol

Never get close to a V8 sound, just a deep low growling V6 sound is the best you'll do. What I have with all in the sig is deep and with the mrtv2 growl but is also deepened but smooth in tone due to the res x pipe. It sounds great and no rasp, just a bit less growling because of the x pipe, and at high rpms less of the v6 highs and deeper in tone a little.

Gotta say MRT v2 ftw though. That video has me thinking of a resonator delete with DT headers though... if only I had an infinite supply of money.

Okay now how does it sound with out a resonator delete or new headers? ( i might get the x pipe at some point or get new cat backs if they don't void the warranty)
