most zl1s end up being like 60k after all the options and guzzler taxes. But even at 5k difference we should be able to make a faster car when dollar to dollar is equal. I just read an article comparing a ctsv and m5 and there is something like a 20k prrice difference. Its hard to compare dollar for dollar with most modern cars.

Haha no just think they are both amazing cars. I think the Z just needs more speed. Being left at every stop light would get old. Outside looks of the Z and road manners/handling are a 10/10 I think.

$56,001 out the door for me. TP/PP car was 61,450 best price I could find. that is 5.5k and the car is burning down in 3 laps no thank you.

They probably had the recaros. Perf pack, track pack, and recaros would be the bulk of the price increase. All performance related options.

that chart is exaclty what is wrong with the internet. It is all about numbers and not reality.

when I go to a track day I don't go there to run one hard lap.

they could put a chart up like that for the 2012 GT500 vs 2012 Boss 302.

the shelby wins the performance tests but every driver says they would own the boss.

if you like corners the Gt500 has issue period. always has. you can mod around them though.

Do you think $40 dollars in dryer ducting would stop the car from burning down lol? It looks as if that may help the ford. Bigger question is are the smaller rear brakes having an effect.

I agree about the price diff being about 5k. For that 5k you can have prob 630 hp from the zl1 which should even things out.

I still think a used viper or z06 is a way better track car.

In my opinion that "comparison" chart is not useful to most here, and that's why it is being ignored.

For example, the chart has 11 effectively repetitive straight line acceleration comparisons.

The GT500 is faster than the ZL1 in straight line acceleration. That's not news, and I don't think that's a surprise to most who are familiar with these two vehicles.

There's no need to show the results of essentially redundant straight line acceleration comparisons 11 different times.

I get what you mean but the chart has track results, braking, slalom, etc. as well. I want the ZL1 to win very category but I am just trying to be open minded as possible.

they also said the camaro was less bumpy and a more better car for long drives....love my camaro...but the ford guys are not to far behind.

Ya, I plan on intercooler, CAI, pullies and tune, maybe headers. Should help a lot.
