Wash pad or mitt?

I use the Adam's wool mit. I got it because I have always used a mitt. Watching the Adam's video I noticed the wash pad is used and no mention is made of using a mitt. Because of this and because all the kits come with pads not mitts, I assume they are the more commonly used item.

Why are pads prefered? What do you use?

I use Mit on top part of the car and pad on the bottom part of the car.

I could be wrong, and probably am, but I think the videos were recorded before the mitt was introduced. Personally, I would prefer to use the mitt. It seems to be softer than the wash pad. But there's absolutely nothing wrong with using the wash pad.

Need an option for both... i use the merino mitt for the upper 2/3rds of the vehicle and the pads for the lower 1/3rd... I also have an extra one in rotation for use on front ends heavily caked with bugs... just in case.
