Unhappy LOOKING FOR MY OLD CAR...

Perhaps someone on here can help.
I am looking for my old Camaro. Last seen around 1995 when it was sold to a guy named Ben Schetter near Tiffin, Ohio.
The car would have been white at the time with no front clip, a bench seat and two speed 'glide. The plates listed on the title would have been 802 NBL.
I don't have the VIN, trying to track it down...
I retire in two years from the military and would really like to get this car back as a retirement project.
Thanks in advance to any and all that may have information.

Sorry about that... had to write the post twice. I got all the way through once and it put me back to zero... The year was 1968, it was originally a three on the tree, but had been converted to a Power Glide. Had a small block with a single four (aluminum intake) all the sheet metal was solid and it was an A/C car. It didn't have any spoilers or stripes at that point. That is about all I can think of at the moment.

I don't know. After I sold the car to Ben, he didnt' do a thing to it and sold it to another guy. Ben passed before I could get in contact with him... The sheet metal on the car was SOLID and other than the front, clip the car needed very little work, so I am hoping someone decided to just put it back on the road. I know I don't have much to go on, but I have to start with what I've got.

Nope... that was my first thought, and I called the company that I had it insured through... our records don't go back that far. Then I called the DOT and they said I need the VIN to fill out the request to release the VIN.
I am going to try to get hold of the accident report from when the car was hit... maybe they keep THOSE on file somewhere for that long?

How about the body shop that did the repairs? They might have a file on the car.

Actually, to my knowledge, the repairs were never done. I have gotten a line on a guy that says he may be able to help me, but he can't be positive that the TXDOT will have records that far back. I will let you know what I find out!

I know the passionate feelings you have right now as I went through them. My '69 was destroyed, and my '72 Z the owner said, "No F'in way." Good luck with your venture.
