SC question

What is that reservoir thingy (see blue arrow)? What's in it? Is it safe to open? Does it need to be checked? If it is coolant in there, checking the coolant level at the main coolant reservoir would suffice, correct?
It is advertised as maintenance free but I am curious if there is any SC maintenance, checks, etc. need to be periodically performed on the supercharger anyway?
I know, I should talk to my mechanic but I think he's at the PRI and I figured I get faster response here.
THanks!

Not familiar with the Camaro set up, but I'd bet it's the intercooler reservoir. You should be able to check it by sight. If not, it won't hurt to open it. Probably better to do it with the ignition off, so the coolant won't be circulating. It's totally seperate from the radiator coolant. You could be out of either and not affect the other.

hmmmm if that is the intercooler reservoir, I see the hoses route to the block so it seems it gets the coolant from it so and if so, I would assume that if my radiator coolant level is good, the intercooler reservoir should be good.
waiting for more to chime in. Thanks guys!

It is a tank for the inter cooler it is self contained it does not feed off the engine coolant. I wouldn't open when it is hot but its not going to explode like a radiator but it will over flow a bit if the car is running.

Thanks, Mike. Just being curious, I will open and check it tonight. Any coolant will do for topping off, right?

FYI - We used the orange coolant in the radiator and the green stuff in the intercooler so I can tell which is which in the event of a leak.
