Ok, I'll try that next time and go with a 1/2 tank of fuel. Yes these tires have a wide tread going shoulder to shoulder, straight across.

Motortrend claims new mustang V-6 at 5.1 (0-60) and 13.7 (1/4) @ 102.....

...ouch.

EDIT: of couse..thats including performance package which has GT suspension...not sure about gearing.

Thanks, yes those are the three items.

Now the numbers on the 2011 V6 Stang are impressive but it doesn't bother me at all. I won't be racing one on the street ever and the chances of meeting one at test and tune or track rental are remote.

I go to the track to compete against myself and my car and have some fun here. Plus I've been a GM fan since high school, it seemed like everyone drove GTO's, Vetts, SS Chevelle's and yes Camaro's. That was a long time ago. I did own and street raced a 67 GTO in 1967,68,69.

Now I might be able to shave a tenth off my 13.9xx with just a better 60'

I also wonder if Chevy will bump the HP in the 2011 V6.

BTW, someone mentioned the v6 Mustang's track time and that it had the performance package. That means 3.31 or 3.55 gears, I can't remember which. Stock are 2.7x somethings. I thinks. I just woke up from working a double, lol, mind isn't all there.

I definitely did not post the V6 Stang numbers to take away from your impressive quarter mile run. It really does not bother me much either...just said ouch because I do hope that GM will retaliate soon lol.

That said, I don't think it will be long and we'll be seeing several more 13's comming from you guys. Looking forward to it!

I think it will be rare to see a bone stock Mustang run a 13.7... the magazine guys make it look a lot easier than it is for the typical weekend warrior out to have fun in his car... I remember running at the Fun Ford Weekends... I seen a number of guys that were only able to run low 14s in the 2005 GTs... some with Drag Radials! And their cars were rated at 13.5...

I'm looking forward to seeing some at the track!

It should be 3.xx gear ratios. 2.73 gears will be great for mpg but not for ponies. will take forever to get to 55mph. 3.73 was the gear in my Stock Silverado back in 2000. 3.92 is in my wife's durango right now with factory towing pakage. Higher numbers are higher rpm and more torque transfer for pulling, towing, and launching. 2.73 might work good with a 6-speed but 4 speed it won't do any good for take off but tp end will be awesome.
