Why does everyone think this car is going to be faster in warm weather? I can tell you from expierance that my 94z28 with 642 rwhp ran allot better in 50 deg weather than it did when in the 70-80 deg temp. Also Supercharged cars do run slower in altitude . Compare Pamona
to Palmdale (L.A.C.R) My z28 would run half a second slower. Also my Lightning ran 13.6@103 at Carlsbad but would only run Low 14s at 2700 ft above sea level.

I can also say that with a good driver i bet the 6 speed is going to beat a auto! Remember what Chevy claimed was stock for a Z06 ? well one guy ran 10s bone stock and another 11.1@129 Ill own a zl1 one day and ill mod it to hell

they guy your talking aobut is ranger and that is on drag radials not the F1 supercars that comes stock on the vette. that being said there have been better than the 11.7 magazine times run.

it is the tire compound that comes on these cars. it is different the what you had on your car. So your past experience does not really apply.

if you have never driven on these new max perfromance compounds then you have no idea what happens to the grip at low temps. I got a rude awakening to it on my first vetter I drive them all year round.

they get a tad better with heat but then when you heat them to much grip goes away as well. IT is night and day. somewhere between 60-70 the strait line grip gets really good. 55 and below it just starts to get worse. At the 45 that they did that article at I can't smoke my tires all the way to 90 in second. out of corner I could break grip in 3rd probably. not fun. then you get a nice day I can just hammer second and give it a pretty good flog in first.

Excellent video! This shows what a true muscle car can do with an experienced driver. I can't wait to get my car

I remember the day the first numbers were posted up. Lot's of people crying foul and OMG 12.1 ahhhh. I do recall stating that a good driver getting it to hook up from a dead stop (rather than the roll)would be sub 12. This video proves that it will do sub 12 1/4 right off the delivery truck. ENJOY , RINSE & REPEAT.

Yessir, ZL1 comes with no-lift shift...awesome feature as I something similar on my trackbike (2006 R6) and it makes up shifting way quicker; no clutch needed on the bike Just keep it pinned and shift away I just watched the video again and he definitely uses the "NO LIFT SHIFT" feature in the 2nd run as you hear the tires chirp when he shifts to 2nd gear...that sound signifies he's powershifting (fortunately GM designed the feature to be used under warranty) & it basically keeps the torque built up in between shifts so you don't lose power. So in the ZL1 you will floor the gas pedal and use the clutch and upshift like normal but keep your right foot down, don't lift! (Hence "NO LIFT" shift)

Google the feature or read some of the ZL1 reviews on this site again in case you missed it!

i love the fact that the word warranty comes up so often in a performance car= beat the pee out of it and it still covered. GM finally got it right between the technology, power, and warranty this thing is a beast.

I can chirp 2nd and 3rd in my car and I don't have "no lift shift", or the power of the ZL1. I don't think that him chirping 2nd gear in a 580hp car necessarily means he used that feature.

Good find! The times are really good considering this track is at 3,000 feet elevation.
