Are the Nitto Invo's the best tire you can put on the camaros?
I've been doing tons of research over the past month, and I think the Invo's appear to be the best tire you can put on the camaro?
I don't care about tread life, wet traction, or anything. I am buying a set of tires for racing, and there are NO RACE TIRES for the camaro. No one has been able to find any from anyone without stepping down to 19s or wider 20s, which I CANNOT DO due to classing requirements. Therefore, before I dump 2k into new wheels just to run a separate set of Invos, I wanted to know if they really are the best tire I can get. (with the hope that hoosier, kumho, toyo, or nitto will come up with SOMETHING over the next year or 2) Max budget is about 4-5k, but I doubt I'll get anywhere close to that. Thanks!

I also swapped the body for a C2 Z28. (In short I traded it for three cars, a Corvette Z06r, a C2 Camaro Z28, and a Cadillac CTS Summer Performance package 3.6L DI with Aisin 6spd.)

I have the invos on the back (315s) .. I'm not sure about being the best since I have only had stock tires and now these, but for the price difference, the Invo works just fine with me. I have no issues with wet traction and dry traction seems to be just fine

R888s can't fit on an 8" wide rim no matter how hard you try... maybe the 9"... they recommend nothing smaller than 9.5, otherwise I'd buy them right now!
I've got a motorcycle racer which sprays some chemical compound to soften the rubber before he races. I wonder if that would work with the Invos?

well if some one will sell just the stock SS rear rims then you could run the 20x9s all around on your car.

I would say the NT05 are way better for AutoX than the INVO's. I've run both and the INVO's are not that great since they take too long to get heated up.
Also might want to look at the Yokohama Advan (180 TR). |

Pricy, Ferrari OE race tires, but will fit a 20x8. The complementing 295 will fit the stock rear as well. |

that's why I run 19's on the street and 18's for the track - tire sizes in my sig.
YOu drop a ton of weight going to the smaller wheel size, and also lower your car as well. |

There are definately better tires out there. In every tire comparison I've seen the P- Zeros, PS2s, Continentals, etc tested better than the Invos
Here's a quote from the Car and Driver's test. "the Invos were below average in the dry and average in the wet, which put them in eighth place. Nitto does offer a higher-performance tire, the NT05, which conceivably could have fared better" The Invos had the second slowest dry autocross time for all the tires tested. I mentioned before that I have some friends with Vettes that were running the Invos. They told me to stay away from them because they just couldn't get them to hook up on the street. But these are some pretty high HP cars. They told me they're having better luck with the Nitto NT05s. |

He's looking for competition/road race tires kids, not crappy street tires. Like I said in my earlier post, the ferrari fitment tires were the only ones I could find that would fit front/rear
