Yeah...if the OP is looking to go down the road of headers etc...Teds option would be the choice over the Hypertech...simply because you can take it past a stock car with a tune.

Friend had a Hypertech laying around for 96-07 Chevy/GMC trucks so I thought I would give it a try. Used Hp Tuners to pull the stock tune, then put the tune in for premium gas with the HyperT. Pulled the tune again with HP and compared the two. Only changes it made was adding 3 degrees of time across the board. So unless someone wanted to change tire height or gear ratio this thing is a waste of money. The one for the Camaro might be more advanced but I doubt it. So if you want to do a handheld give Ted a call.

It is more involved on the camaro. Especially a L99.

This is typical of over the counter tuners for stock cars.

My tunes have over 200 Changes, for even the most basic custom JRE tune.

Ted.

I'm not knocking your tunes. From what I hear, they are awesome. But I'm sorry, the hypertech does more than just add a little timing. It disables AFM, raises rpm limit, raises shift points, adjusts shift firmness, readjusts torque management on the auto, it also has abity to adjust speedometer for different tire sizes. Its a canned tune. Is it as good as a custom? Absolutely not! But the canned tunes do have some value.

Bringing up an old thread.

Using a tuner to lock out AFM activation bypasses the occasional glitches when using the Range module. Yes, they still will occur, even after the latest update from the makers. Just the nature of the beast, I guess.

if you disable the AFM with a programmer, there is no need to use a Range thing at all.. since the AFM is already disabled in the tune anyway...

I meant using the tuner rather than the Range. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

Using both at the same time throws codes in the flux capacitors.
Try at your own peril.

Sorry to bump a thread - and perhaps being a Newbie relating to the wrong topic, but having come from a Ford Product Background, changing out the MAF (a la the JET MAF which I might be incorrectly assuming is larger as well) makes a very noticeable difference in the way the 4.6 V8 engine runs and performs.

I don't see why the same logic might apply to the Camaro V6 engine as well.

if it says Jet on in its junk. if the v6 one is any different then stock (the v8 one is relabled stock) its just going to lie to the computer. this is the wrong way to find any amount of power.
