I am hoping the Z/28 is coming. They need to have the vents in the front fenders like they had from 1978 to 1981. To me it looks like the badges say camaro on the side. if you look hard enough you can see the R and O imprinted on the tape.

It's nice to know that Ford already has all the hardware, carb certifications, and durability testing done to slap the 2.3L TVS onto the GT500 and send it out the door as the factory blower at 650HP and its easily upgraded.

kaneda,

I agree. But, the GT500, in my opinion, has already crossed that price point where buyers, such as me, expect much more than just power. I have a 2011 GT and it is identical to the GT500, except for the powertrain and some suspension components. And, it was $15-20K less. I seriously considerd the GT500. However, one thing I expect for $50K and greater is much more refinement and not having to deal with stupid issues (like the clutch issue) at the dealer level. I love my Mustang for waht it is, an American pony car that doesn't need a ton of refinement to be enjoyable. However, if I'm spending more than $50K, I want refinement and better service. That is what you get at Audit, Porsche, etc. dealers.

I guess my point is that both Ford and Chevy are in danger of pricing themselves out of the market with the GT500 and possibly the Z-28. I can get raw power out of a modified standard GT or SS Camaro and for less overall money. If I wasnt to spend big bucks on a car, I'm going upscale.

we're all looking one way..

We're all talking supercharged z/28...is there any chance they would go old school and go 7.0L z/06 505hp instead? I mean thats not out of the question is it?

The new SRT-Chally is upping displacement to 6.4 and saying to hell with the supercharger...and these three are 'old school/new school muscle'...Ford just puts the blower on theirs b/c they dont have the cubes to make the hp they need

I for one would think its pretty sweet if the z/28 was 7.0ish, made 505-550 hp and NA. It also would keep price a little lower if you're using a LS7 derived powertrain as opposed to LS9... maybe

just throwing an idea out...

as with all things the ls7 is ending production soon. besides why limit yourself with the ls7? slap a big enough shot of nitrous or a ton of boost and bam what motor?

and you assume they will? also they don't warranty their engines as long as GM does. so their durability tests can last shorter. by slapping on a blower that pushes more air that will shorten the life of the engine no matter how you look at it. the real point is why would they if they can get some poor sap to part ways with more money?

and who's to say GM won't offer something of the like for the camaro?

650hp on that DOHC 5.4 is nothing. The car would still last well beyond 100k.

For all intents and purposes that 5.4 is supposed to be just ridiculous in the good way a motor should be.

So I agree.

I must also admit I like the 2011 GT 500's nav system... I wish they'd put something like that in the Camaro. Right now based on the way the interior/dash is done they can't though. :(

Also... stupid Onstar. I hate the added bulk of the mirror.

On a different note, I am hard pressed to believe that fully optioned out the Z will break 50. My gut says it will be close (49-49.5) but I don't think it will break the 50 barrier. It doesn't make sense.

That, or the Mayans predicted the return of the Z/28 as the 'End of the World.

..An 'End of the World' in the form of a giant vehicular slaughter on the world's roadways.

The new 2012 Armageddon. From Chevrolet.

Holy crap.. that could also work for the mule name! Z/28 Mule aka "Armageddon".
