You know, that "huge" expanse of uninterrupted plastic, is interrupted by an acrylic strip. The ambient lighting would not have broken it up more, since you can only see it at night, and at night you really can't see that huge expanse of plastic. It really wouldn't be too hard to fabricate the abl across the dash yourself. I will be attempting this soon myself. I'll keep everyone posted on how it turns out

Lets not talk about my blue rings, or us Canadian blue rings.
I must say, the first story we got for this issue was total bullshit.
The first story stated that it was an SS option at first only, so only SS clusters were made with the red rings.
Well how does that make sense when SSs that are not US have blue rings only, when the IOM interior was always an option for the SS.
I hate the cover up stories we get for these little screw ups.
I wonder who got the short end of the deal
P.S does anyone truly believe the "overheating" dash abl?

Um, how does it NOT make sense? The SS comes with blue rings for most but red rings for American IOM. That's not a "cover story" or a "screw up."

And who ever said something about overheating dashes? Nobody here that I've read. They've told us that when they tried dash lighting it was just too much light, bad for your night vision and an unnecessary distraction.

I agree, I think the ABL on the dash would be way too distracting.

Look at your post count, then your join date. Dont challenge me on what ive read on this forum.
And for your information, the first story stated that it was an SS option only that was then decided to be an option for the v6. But by the time they had made the decision, the order for the clusters was already put through. Therefore all SS were supposed to have red rings (if you ordered the IO interior). How does it then make sense if only US SSs are getting the red rings. By the time of order, both metric and Imperial SS gauges would have been ordered with blue rings and red rings.
So dont try to correct me if you dont have your facts to back it up.
And actually, the first answer we had to the ABL not being on the dash was that there was a overheating issue and that it caused some cracks.
How about you read a little more before making statements " And who ever said something about overheating dashes? Nobody here that I've read."

Better tell Cadillac to remove their in-dash ABL then before someone gets too distracted!!!

I can confirm that my Black 2SS/RS M6 IOM interior has the orange rings around the circles and orange abl on the doors. I did not realize that the 1SS or V6 with IOM interior did not have this feature or even cars that are sold outside of the US. Kinda makes my car a bit special though.
