Out of state purchasing???

Because of pricing etc., I'm thinking of buying from one of the guys that are on this site. I'm a little nervous as I usually walk into a dealership, sit down, negotiate and buy or don't buy. Dealing with a dealer several states away has me a little ansy.
Experiences, good or bad, please
Thanks

ahh, it'll go fine, you just have to pay sales tax to your "home" state...
(bought in Montana... Live in Georgia)

I bought mine from Anna Berringer "little bank robber" at Sparta Chevrolet in MI. I also had your trepidation, but she calmed all my fears and I got a good deal. I wound up paying the local MI tax and when I went to register it here in TX the tax was an additional $1.36 to make up the difference.
I say go for it. I got a better deal than I could have from my local dealers and I also got the color (ABM) that I wanted. Look at it this way. The dealers on here have a reputation to keep with this community. As your local dealer could care less about their reputation on this site. So you should get a much better deal and experience from them. Plus they dealers on here are all Camaro fanatics, so they know how you feel about buying this fantastic car.

I bought out of state. I also went with Anna and the buying experience was very easy and I was completely satisfied.
As already mentioned, you will pay the sales tax based on where you will register the car...assuming your home state.

If you do not plan to go pick up your car, consider the additional cost for shipping into your total cost. Also realize the additional time it may take to get your car to you. The dealer will need a little time to get the car ready and then wait for the shipping folks to come get it.

Out of state can be nice. Mines turning into a little vacation. Taking my dad along for driving duties and we're going to visit several relatives I havent seen in ages on the way home.

probably cant go wrong with most of the dealers on this site. This would not be a place to do any bad business. the internet can be death to people in business and if they are still around... probably all top notch!

I bought out of state, in PA., live in Ohio. When I financed they fiqured out how much my Ohio sales tax was and I got a check in the mail so I could pay it when my 30 day tags expired and I had to get plates. I paid no PA tax

have bought 5 of my last 6 cars out of state, I am one that likes a good deal and is willing to travel 2-5 hours to get it. the first time you do it it seems tough but after that it's a breeze and the fact you'll save jack makes it that much easier! Go for it

I bought mine from Becky D @ Rogers Chevrolet outside of Detroit, MI and I was currently living in Connecticut at the time. Everything went really smooth, she honored any discount I was eligible for, and I even got it delivered to a local dealership in Connecticut pretty cheap. Most of the people on this site are extremely reliable so I wouldn't have any worries if you decide to purchase your vehicle through one of them.

I see that you are in California. I believe that all new cars sold to California residents must have "California Emissions".

At one time I considered buying from an out of state dealer, and some of them had cars with California emissions (proably due to some type of dealer trade, Cal. cars can be sold in any state I believe). A dealer in ANY state can order a car with California emissions for you.

Check with any of the several dealers who frequently contribute to this form. They have OUTSTANDING reputations and would be happy to help you get the car you need.

Because of possible registration problems due to California emission laws, I would not randomly choose a dealer who does not participate here.

It was my understanding the Camaro is already 50-state emissions ready. I could be wrong.

We bought from Eric at Classic Chevy in Grapevine, TX. We live in SC. He gave us great service and made our buying experience a real pleasure. Even though it was raining when we got there.
