Nightmare

I'm new to the forum---bought my 2010 Camaro SS about a month ago and brought it to Andy for the LS3 conversion, GT11 cam and all the bolt on's. Great solid hp/trq numbers and a solid reliable build by ADM (these guys are genius'). Anyway, I bought the car used so there was some wear items I need to take care of. Take it to a small shop in Forney (friend owns it) for a brake repair, near closing time so he loans me his truck and will have the job completed tomorrow. This is where my living nightmare begins. For my own peace of mind, I decide to drive by the shop to make sure all is well with my car and from inside I can hear someone revving the hell out of my car over and over. Sounds like he is taking it to redline and just holding it there. I bang on the door and use the extra keyfob to cut off the engine. This goes on four or five times before I hear him give up and close my car door. I speed around front and the punk steps outside to light a cig. Needless to say, things didn't go well. After calling out the owner he said whatever is wrong he will take care of. The car is pouring out white smoke from the exhaust, and the engine has a bad tick sound. Not happy! Engine that Andy built has 20k miles on it. I'm pissed and I'm thinking a new engine build is in order.

By the way, glad to be a part of the forum.

This is why we cant have nice things. Sounds like you have a nice lawsuit on your hands if the owner of the shop dosn't pay up. Hopefully everything will be fixed quickly, oh and welcome.

Wait, was it your friend that did this? Or the owner of this shop?

Friend is the owner. The kid is a greasy spot on the pavement now.

Wow, I guess he's not your friend anymore. I would sue before he even said he'd take care of it, that way, he's more inclined to not further botch whatever damage he did and sees you're seriously pissed.

The owner is his friend. Not the dirtbag that was running his car.

Again, The owner (his friend) said he'll take care of it. The owner did not botch anything except hiring a dirtbag for a mechanic.
and sees you're seriously pissed.

How did you turn the car off with the extra key fob? If he's reving the engine he has to have the key in the ignition and on.

This is true. You can only turn the car off with the key fob after it's been turned on utilizing the remote start feature. Once the key is in the ignition, that's it, that person had control of the engine. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Good catch PQ.

Wasn't sure if it would work but I pressed the remote start button from outside the door and heard the engine shut down. Now I guess it could be coincidence and he was just turning it off and on at the same time I was pressing the button.

please tell me you recorded the jackass kid ruining your car?
I really hope your friend comes through but I have a feeling he wont cover a 20k engine.
What a dumb kid, who the F does that.
Like someone said above, you can never have anything nice in this world

It is coincidence. I just tested it and it doesn't work when the other keyfob is in the ignition. This means he was shutting it down and starting it back up and revving and then shutting it down etc. Makes me more unhappy about it.
