Opinions/Ideas for a friend on a budget :chevy:

Hey guys, I have a budget of about $1500, I was wondering if you guys thought it would be better if i didn't spend around $1000-1200 on new rims and only spend $200-350 on just painting my current stock 18" rims semi-gloss black, My car is CGM. any recommendations for how i should spend the rest if i do just paint the rims? Anything to watch out for when buying rims, especially if they are not brand names?

There are a lot of decent looking rims out there for under $1500 for the set.

paint rims - $300
SLP tube & filter OR Airaid cold air intake - $180 OR $330 (2 cheapest i've seen for v6)
your choice of exhaust - $405 to $1200 (lots to choose)

I have a CGM 1LT and bought a set of take off polished rims and tires. They can be found complete for under $1500. The car looks much much better, steering is a lot quicker and the ride is smoother on the freeway. My advice go for 20 inch whels and tires and use the 1LT wheels for the winter.

I agree with redman plus TSW also makes affordable wheels. There are many others too.

Thanks guys! i think im gonna go with what redjewel2ss said... the car would look really good with bigger rims, but i only have 1500 to spend and i think it would look weird with just nice rims and nothing else... but PLEASE KEEP VOTING!
