This is a GM Oil Separator similar to the one one the zl1. It is made for off road use only but some dealerships don't know and are installing them.

This is after about 150 miles. Install a separate clutch reservoir and keep this clutch dust in check.

Do you have more on how exactly this is done? Is it the same issue with the SS models also?

So far this is a sweet build, that car is beautiful! I like the deep look of the tails also

well is there an issue if its installed by the dealer? i mean is it a warranty voiding thing since its "off road use only"?

Nope... just means your dealer is dumb.

It is just a fancy vented cap.

Rainy day lunch time easy mods (please don't tell my therapist)

The first is the dash center speaker delete. This helps with the stereo separation and gives the system a better (cleaner) sound.

The speaker cover comes off fairly easy using a trim removal tool. (can get a pack of these for about 10 bucks) Make sure that you pop it up on all for side FIRST and then bring it back towards you to remove.

[

The speaker is held down with two screws. I just used a small crescent wrench to break em free and then backed them out by hand very easy.

The OEM connector unplugs by pressing in the release (detent) and pulling straight down.

Using my favorite modding device I tie wrapped the connector to keep it from rattling.

You want to make sure you place the cover back on front (towards engine not you ) to rear. Notice the three tabs.

As a bonus you can shed a entire 8 ozs of weight!!

Next is to replace the harsh map light bulb with an LED. Pick ya color (yeah white is a color) and it burns WAY cooler.

Once again using the trusty trim tool remove the cover.

You want to make sure to loosen and then pull straight down. Pretty much with all the connectors on this car you do not want to pull at angles.

These are the replacement bulbs erum (sorry I am old school I mean LEDs) I used.

This blue is a PERFECT match to the GM Ice Blue used in the gauges and the door.

The cover just snaps back into place. Here is the finished product.
