TSBs for new owner

I'm going to complete my purchase today. I can get a "we owe" from the dealer for any TSB I need done. Can someone PM me a list of must have work done TSBs? Also as I have a brand new car what precautions can I take with the top, water issues, etc? Things to look for or at?

I would say to use the tonneau cover as much as possible. It's a MINOR inconvenience to put it on, but many of the issues with our tops arise from the material flapping in the wind against the frame when the top is down.
The tonneau cover should keep this from happening.

I second classicrockr's advice. I always put the tonneau cover on when my top is down. If your car doesn't come with a cover, I strongly recommend purchasing one.

Congratulations on your new car. Here's an attachment for the TSBs; I think it is pretty up-to-date.

Use of the tonneau cover is really personal. For every person that says to use it, there is another that will say not to use it. My recommendation is this: do a search on this and you will find alot of information. From there, you can make an informed decision.

Also, like other members posted, use a top protectant. 303 or Raggtopp are good...just comes down to personal choice. Again, do a search and read what members are using.

This forum is an excellent resource, with alot of great convertible-owning members that are extremely helpful.

Thank, I was wondering about a spray of some sort. The Arizona sun is brutal.

I like the Raggtopp product, used it on my Vette and now on the Camaro.

You don't need a 'we owe' for TSBs, if your issue pertains to a current TSB then it is performed. They are VIN specific, not make/model specific. So one convertible doesn't necessarily get a TSB the next convertible gets.
And you can't just demand all the TSBs be performed on your car. TSB address a specific concern that a customer has. TSBs are not a recall, two different things.
Not saying you didn't know any of this already, just sharing.

Tonneau, as has been mentioned is a matter of "convenience". I use mine for higher speed beltway driving and longer trips at speed. Short hops to the store and local driving where I won't drive above 40 mph, I don't put it on.

Don't let anyone sit on the back above the seats - EVER!

Baba why no car wash? I figured I could do low speed with no tonneau and always use it above 45. Always as in three whole days of owning the car. Love top down driving as do my kids.

You have more discipline than I do. It's tough for me NOT to exceed 40 mph at some point during a drive -- even when it's a quick juant to the store.

I never use my tonneau and mine is fine. I also go through car washes and my car looks perfect...just depends on who you go to. My car did get a top fix before I bought it however. So, my car was ahead of the game.

This is my 5th convertible (third in Arizona). The best advice I can give is don't leave your top down when you don't have to (like overnight in the garage). The fabric holds up much better stretched over the frame, rather than wadded up in the well. Protectants work well, especially UV protectants, but the best protection is just keeping it clean. Keeping the dirt and dust out of the fabric fibers with a mild detergent (like Woolite) and a soft brush goes a long way to keeping it looking new.
