Would 18" Rims fit on the SS
I was thinking about getting a cheap set of Rims and 18" snow tires to put on the SS during the winter since i live in michigan. Would 18" fit due to those calipers?.....Thanx

Chances are slim but it may depend on the wheel itself.. Until we have one we can measure we wont know for sure.

Possibly. The 1st Gen CTS-V ran the same exact setup, 14" front and 14.4" rear with 4 pots all around, and they came stock with 18x8.5s with 245s all around. However, those 18s are 6 lug, so they won't fit on a Camaro.
Theoretically it'll work. You just have to find the right rim.

I was thinking about the same thing. Putting a stock set of the Steelies on for the winter. I called up chevy and they said if the clearance is anything close to what they think it might be. There is no way 18's will fit. They suggested trying to find a set of 19's and finding a set of winter tires for those.

As posted above it would be close and depend on the 18's... these are 17's on my Evo, the Brembos on this are 11-3/4" in length 3-1/2" wide and stick out 2 1/4" from the rotor, rotors are 12.6 inches as compared to 14 inches on the SS, there is about 1/4" before the inside of the wheel, according to BBS they are +38 offset. All that basically means is that on a 17 " wheel that leaves me about 1.25 inches of clearance. So it would be very close.
Now these are 13.8" rotors on an Range Rover with 18's... Sorry if I made it more confusing... those were the best examples that I knew of. |

Very tight, but they made it work, and the CTS-V had the same brake setup that the SS is getting.

Get used to it. I've dealt with quite a few Brembo cars, and owned one myself. In trade for the amazing stopping power, you get amazing dust, amazing brake squeal, and amazingly expensive pads.
IMHO it's worth it.

im a 2ltrs person myself lol so i don't really have to worry about brembo's but down the line i will probably get them.... on a side note, are they beneficial as a "safety feature" for insurance purposes or not so much?

No. There is no insurance credit for good brakes.
