Only your dealer has access to it's allocation, if they are worthy of your purchase they should be honest with you if you ask them.

If your sales rep won't tell you then call and ask to talk to the sales manger on duty. They can normally tell you. That's what I did. Didn't like the answer, but I guess I can spend more time saving up money when my car does come in...

well I have a quick question relating to allocations as well...when I first went to my dealer, they told me they had allocations spots available, so I place my order on 7/26. I noticed that it didn't get picked up on the next 2 Fridays, so I emailed my salesman to see where I was in the allocation line-up. Here his response:

Chris,

I just got back, and thanks for being patient. There are 4 cars ahead of yours as of this morning.

Our consensus is giving us 4 allocations over the next three weeks. Our zone manager has promised us 3 additional allocations in return for buying the Cadillac inventory from Robert Woodall. The most accurate answer I can give you is it will be pulled over the next 3-4 weeks.

Let me know if there are any other questions.

Thank you.

Curt Cope

So am I interpreting this right in that they have no spots currently so I have to hope they get at least 5 or my order hangs out there forever?

I though I did the right thing by asking if an allocation spot was available but maybe I'm screwed. I'd really like to have the car by November.

They know the total number they will get for a particular month at a time. I paid for my car last Wednesday because it's on it's way my salesman told me they had 26 allocations for all of august.

You can post multiple questions in a single thread, too. You've got 4-5 all next to each other, would make it easier to keep track.

Not to mention two of his posts were nearly exactly the same, glad someone else is paying attention. I got tired of fighting the good fight alone.

Dealers will tell you that they can put it in right away. They want your business. But it does not take 3 months to get it. That means he has orders in front of yours. I live in the furthest place in the Continental U.S. and its taking us 5-8 weeks from time we put allocation in.

I say tell him, if he can give you an order sheet, with an order number, signed by the manager on the spot, then you will give him a check.... don't fall in the trap I fell into with my dealer, so far it's been a nightmare.... he told me Tues that my car was in transit, but according to the order number he gave me and the info I go from VIZ, the car has a TPW of 8/24 and is still not built yet.... oh this is the second order number, the first order number he gave me was for another car... it's been about 63 days since I put my depoist down, but the one brigh spot, If I don't have a car in 75 days, I can get my deposit back.... to be honest I know they don't want to sell it to me at MSRP one of the salesmen told me, but my agreed upon price with a former salesman who took my order was for MSRP.... So now I'm at the point second order number, 63 days, no car, and guess we will see... once i hit 75 days, I will start looking for another dealer.... good luck
