If you have $10k to spend on just equipment...you do not want just 1 - 5 channel amp. I would run 10 to 12 separate channels if I could...
Do lots of research or you're going to waste your money....it doesn't matter how much you spend on equipment. If the install is garbage, it will sound like garbage. Rob |

I'm goin with hertz as well total 1k over indpowr at 9k. Just a few differences from his. Should be out the shop by Friday. I'll post pics of that once done. 10k is plenty to put good sound on.

I am replacing my speakers with JL as well. I'm undecided on replacing the 6x9's or going 6.5's on the rear deck. Thoughts??? Why did you go with 6x9's? I have 2 10" subs as well. Thanks in advance.

Im using the JL C2-690TX for rear fill, Its a clean sounding 6x9. They pair well with the JL C2-650 Components im using in the doors and sail panel. The 6x9's have great bass response, not muddy like you may think. I thought if i went with 6 1/2's in the rear deck the Subwoofer's would knock them out of phase. I Guess you could probably use a 6 1/2 coax with some sort of baffle.

OP as far as purchasing gear, make sure you're using authorized dealers, Stay away from grey market gear as you will not get a manufacturer warranty . Lots of great vendors on the C5 forum that are a lot more knowledgable than me.

Macintosh amps, Dynaudio components, Critcal Mass subs(not the cheaper ones), and whatever high end head unit/signal processors suit your taste.

You're on the wrong forum asking this question. You might get a few gems, but more likely haters and folks who have no concept of how to spend $10k in car audio.

JL makes some good stuff. It really depends on what kind of setup you are wanting. You want loud or you want sound good? If you want sound good I wouldn't go all JL. With a $10k budget you could have something pretty nice. I see you are from Prattville. Wish I still lived up that way I would hook you up. Drive down to Montgomery and listen to some stuff. I don't know if he still has a shop but there was a guy named called Byrd that had a shop on the Atlanta highway that knows his stuff pretty good. Also I'm sure you know of CKR. Not the biggest fan of them but they sell quite a bit of product and Jimmy's of course.
Btw can't go wrong with Dynaudio! Shoot me a pm or something and I will see if I can help you figure out what you are wanting to do. This is my truck I did a while back: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/267702...lar-cab/page-2 |
