Sometimes low....is too low......
I went home for lunch today. opened up the garage door, and there sits my car. as i walk past it, i notice the front drivers side fender is kinda odd looking. i get closer and see that the fender is pushed out a little. i look at the tire and see that its sliced from the fender. the tire isnt flat, just sliced a bit. the only conclusion i have to it, is that i must have been cookin it and took a left handed turn and must have compressed the suspension, and sliced the tire. Rich, at backstreet performance, told me we should have raised the car up a bit, in fear of this. but i didnt listen. now i pay the price. so, i guess now im in the market for new tires. which i wanted to get a new brand and wider rear tires any way. but this is not the way i wanted to get them. would like pirelli p zero nero's, in a 305/30/22 rear and 265/30/22 front. if anyone can get a great deal on all 4 shipped to 44705, let me know

Ouch! Hopefully the body damage can be fixed without paint work. You probably want to roll those fender lips a little flatter. We used this tool on a 2010 with great results:
http://www.eastwood.com/fender-finisher-1.html There is very little mark-up (profit) in tires. Hard to beat Tire Rack and Discount Tire pricing.

How much is your car lowered? Do you have coilovers or springs?

This is one of the expensive lessons of going with big rims and stuffing the wheel well which looks great on a show car sitting on carpet, but not so great when performance driving. When my car was getting the Racing Brake rotors and lines put on, the shop it was at had one of the SEMA Camaros there getting some work on the suspension and their tires were sliced too and the fender edges had taken the hit like yours. The guy there said this wasn't unusual on these kinds of cars.
I know I got a lot of grief from the "big rims look bad-ass" crowd last year when everybody was all into getting these and I was talking about dropping down a size to what I got which were 19's. But here's the thing; if you're going to "cook it in the corners" consider carefully the costs in every way. A set of Hankook Ventus v12's in a 275/40 19 for my wheels costs $696 versus almost double what you're going to pay; every time you go through tires. Which can be often if you do track events. If we attended the same events in a year I'll save thousands just in tire costs. You might want to consider getting a set of 19" rims just for performance and track; the money you'll save in tire costs can pay for the rims compared to what you'll spend using your 22's. Use your 22's for show but switch to the 19's for performance. They reduce quite a bit of unsprung weight and they are a LOT cheaper to buy tires for. My car is lowered with Pedders Xa coilovers and there isn't going to be any issues with rubbing or tires being sliced on the fender lip. I have some gap around the tire even lowered but it's there to provide room for the tire when performance driving. It still doesn't look bad on the street though. Sorry about your expensive lesson; add up saving $500 every set of tires and you could easily get a set of 19" rims with the savings in no time.

im glad you like your 19's but i think it looks like crap , to me. im gonna get a set of 19's for the track. but you would never see me driving around the streets with it looking like that. doesnt look good to me. so please keep your 19" preaching elsewhere. we already had a argument over this. lets not go back there.
